Coffing G Series ratchet lever hoists are heavy-duty manual hoists designed for lifting, pulling, binding, and positioning loads. The listed models cover capacities from 3/4 to 15 Ton with compact lifting heights ranging from 53 to 60 in. Their rugged construction and high-capacity roller-chain design make them particularly suitable for utility transmission and distribution work, maintenance operations, equipment positioning, and other demanding applications.

The hoist body and operating handle are constructed from malleable iron, while riveted assembly helps produce a tamper-resistant housing. Malleable iron roller chain provides durable load handling and can be spliced to create longer lifting or pulling reaches. Compared with conventional coil chain, the roller-chain design supports the higher capacities offered throughout the G Series.

A free-chaining mechanism allows unloaded slack chain to be taken up and positioned quickly but prevents free chaining while the hoist is supporting a load. Handle stops help prevent uncontrolled handle rotation if the operator accidentally releases it. Depending on the model, single- or double-locking ratchet-and-pawl arrangements allow operation from either side and in multiple positions. Selected models can also be converted to the next lower capacity by changing the chain arrangement, providing a longer lift and faster operation when the reduced capacity is acceptable.
