The Coffing Model RA ratchet lever hoist is a lightweight manual chain hoist designed for lifting, pulling, binding and positioning loads. This configuration provides a 1-1/2 Ton load capacity, 5 ft Lift, 17-1/4 in minimum distance between hooks, 1-5/16 in hook opening and approximately 60 lb of handle effort at rated load.

The hoist body and operating handle are manufactured from high-strength ductile aluminum alloy, providing corrosion resistance and portability for utility, construction and industrial field work. Open-body construction allows easier visual inspection of the suspension-hook assembly, while handle stops help prevent uncontrolled handle rotation if the operator’s hand slips during use.

A ratchet-and-pawl operating system provides controlled load movement and reduces routine maintenance requirements. At least one pawl remains engaged with the ratchet during lifting and lowering, and the hoist can be operated from either side or in multiple positions. One-handed unloaded chain adjustment allows slack chain to be taken up quickly before the load is applied.
