The Renfroe Lifting Shackle is a heavy-duty rigging component designed to provide a secure and reliable connection point between Renfroe lifting clamps and the rigging hardware above them, including hooks, slings, chains, and hoist assemblies. As a primary load path component, the lifting shackle transfers the full working load from the clamp to the overhead rigging system, making its structural integrity and condition critical to the safety of every lifting operation in which it is used. Renfroe lifting shackles are built to the quality standards that define the Renfroe product line, ensuring dependable performance in demanding industrial environments.

In steel mills, fabrication shops, plate processing facilities, and other heavy industrial settings, lifting shackles are subject to tensile stress, wear at the pin and bow contact points, and fatigue from repeated loading and unloading cycles. Over time, wear at the hook or rigging contact point, elongation of the bow, surface cracking, thread damage on the pin, or deformation of the body can develop, any of which may reduce the load-carrying capacity of the shackle below its rated working load limit. Because the shackle is a critical link in the lifting chain, it must be inspected before every use and removed from service immediately whenever any sign of wear, damage, or dimensional change is detected.

Renfroe lifting shackles are intended for use with Renfroe lifting clamps and compatible rigging hardware, and should always be selected based on the working load limit of the clamp and the total load to be lifted. The shackle pin must be fully seated and secured before every lift, and the shackle must never be side-loaded or used in a configuration that applies force outside the plane of the bow unless specifically rated for that application.
