The Chester Zephyr Hand Chain Hoist is a manually operated lifting unit designed for industrial material handling, maintenance and rigging applications. This model has a 1 Ton rated capacity, hook suspension, single-reeved load chain and 8 ft Lift. Its compact construction provides 12-1/8 in minimum headroom, making it suitable for lifting where available overhead space is limited.

The Zephyr uses a lightweight steel frame with heavy-duty steel covers that enclose and protect the precision-machined operating components. A grease-lubricated planetary gear train uses machine-cut, heat-treated alloy steel gears and pinions mounted on heavy-duty bearings for smooth and efficient manual operation.

A positive-action Weston-type brake provides controlled load handling during lifting, holding and lowering. The load-chain guide surrounds the load sheave to maintain chain alignment and help shield the mechanism from foreign material, while the swivelling forged alloy steel hooks support secure load attachment and alignment. The mechanically enclosed design also simplifies routine inspection and servicing.
