Product Description

The 3M Protecta PRO Pack Shock Absorbing Lanyard is a personal fall arrest lanyard engineered to provide reliable fall protection for workers at height in construction, industrial maintenance, and other elevated work applications. The integrated shock absorber pack deploys during a fall event, extending to reduce the peak arrest force transmitted to the worker's body and harness to within the limits specified by applicable fall protection standards, minimizing the risk of injury during fall arrest by limiting the forces applied to the worker's spine, harness attachment points, and anchor system. The shock absorber pack is contained within a protective cover that keeps the pack clean and intact until deployment is required during a fall event.

At 4 ft length, this lanyard is shorter than the standard 6 ft fall arrest lanyard, making it particularly well suited for applications where minimizing the potential free fall distance is a priority, such as working close to the anchor point, working on elevated platforms or mezzanines with limited fall clearance below, or applications where a shorter lanyard reduces the risk of the lanyard contacting lower structures or equipment during a fall. The reduced length also limits the swing fall arc in applications where the anchor point is not directly overhead, reducing the risk of the worker contacting adjacent structures during a pendulum-type fall.

As a 3M Protecta PRO product, this lanyard is engineered to the performance and quality standards of the Protecta PRO fall protection line and must be used as part of a complete personal fall arrest system including a compatible full-body harness and anchor point rated in accordance with applicable fall protection regulations.
