The 3M DBI-SALA® Nano-Lok Edge Self Retracting Lifeline is a compact, high-performance fall protection device engineered specifically for foot-level tie-off and leading edge applications where conventional self retracting lifelines are not suitable. Unlike standard SRLs designed for overhead anchorage, the Nano-Lok Edge is built to perform reliably when the anchorage point is at or below foot level — a critical distinction in leading edge work where the lifeline may contact the edge of a structure during a fall. The single-leg configuration provides reliable fall arrest for applications where continuous 100% tie-off is maintained through other means or where a single connection point is sufficient for the work being performed.

The cable construction provides durability and abrasion resistance suited to the demanding conditions of leading edge environments, including steel erection, concrete formwork, roofing, and other applications where the lifeline may be exposed to sharp edges or rough surfaces. The quick connect attachment simplifies connection to the harness dorsal D-ring, reducing the time required to don and connect the lifeline on the job. At 8 ft (2.4 m), the Nano-Lok Edge provides a compact working range well suited to close-quarters leading edge tasks where a longer lifeline would create excessive free fall distance.

The quick activating speed sensing brake system engages rapidly upon detecting the acceleration of a fall to arrest movement within a short distance. This fast activation is especially important in foot-level and leading edge applications where fall clearance is limited and a delayed arrest could result in contact with a lower level.
