CM Lodestar XL electric chain hoists with plain trolleys combine powered vertical lifting with manually controlled horizontal beam travel. The listed double-reeved configurations include 3 Ton models operating at 12 or 15 FPM and 4 Ton models operating at 12 or 15 FPM. The heavy-duty Lodestar XL platform is designed for demanding industrial applications that require higher capacities, efficient chain reeving, and dependable load movement.

The factory-installed plain trolley is a manual push-type assembly connected to the hoist through a rigid lug suspension. The trolley can be moved along the runway by pushing or pulling the suspended load and is adjustable for compatible American Standard S-beams and flat-flanged beams. All four configurations fit beam flange widths from 4 to 6-1/4 in. The 3 Ton models have a 4 ft minimum-radius curve, 4 in wheel-tread diameter, and 9-1/8 in headroom, while the 4 Ton models have a 6 ft minimum-radius curve, 6-1/2 in wheel-tread diameter, and 12 in headroom.

The Lodestar XL hoist uses a lightweight cast aluminum frame and covers, Hoistaloy load chain, and a hardened alloy steel oblique-lay liftwheel designed to promote smooth chain engagement and reduce wear. Surface-hardened alloy steel helical gears operate in an oil bath for efficient power transmission. A multiple-disc brake, overload protector, upper and lower screw-type limit switches, thermally protected motor, and forged hooks with latches support controlled lifting in manufacturing, fabrication, maintenance, and heavy material-handling environments.
