Product Description

Product Description:
CM Series 653 lever chain hoists are rugged, manually operated tools designed for lifting, lowering, pulling, dragging, stretching, tensioning, and positioning loads in confined industrial work areas. These less-chain configurations provide the hoist mechanism without load chain, allowing a compatible chain assembly and required lift length to be selected separately. The listed models are available in 1-1/2, 3, and 6 Ton capacities.

The Series 653 uses steel-stamping construction for the frame, covers, and operating lever. Hardened load-sharing gears transfer the operator’s input through the drive mechanism, while two chain-guide rollers promote positive engagement with the correctly matched load chain. Forged upper and lower hooks with heavy-duty latches help retain properly seated lifting attachments, and a powder-coated finish provides additional corrosion protection.

A Weston-type braking system provides positive load control and positioning, while the double-pawl arrangement supports dependable mechanical engagement. Single-handed free chaining allows unloaded chain to be moved rapidly during hook positioning once the correct chain assembly has been installed. The 1-1/2 Ton model requires 51 lb of pull at rated load, and the 3 Ton model requires 77 lb; both use a 16-1/4 in lever and single-strand reeving.
