Product Description

CM Series 653 lever chain hoists are manually operated lifting and pulling tools designed for industrial, construction, maintenance, positioning, and close-quarter rigging applications. The listed 1-1/2 and 3 Ton configurations each provide a 5 ft Lift and use single-strand reeving. The 1-1/2 Ton model requires approximately 51 lb of lever pull at rated load, while the 3 Ton model requires approximately 77 lb. Both models use a 16-1/4 in operating lever, hardened steel load chain, and a Weston-style braking system.

The compact hoist body uses an impact-resistant stamped steel frame and gear cover to withstand repeated handling in demanding work areas. Hardened steel load-sharing gears transfer operating force through the drive assembly, while two chain-guide rollers promote positive chain engagement. Forged upper and lower hooks are fitted with heavy-duty latches to help retain properly seated rigging, and the powder-coated exterior provides additional protection against corrosion.

Single-handed free chaining allows unloaded chain to be moved quickly for initial hook positioning and slack-chain adjustment. Once the load is engaged, the enclosed Weston-type brake and double-pawl arrangement provide positive load control during lifting, lowering, pulling, and positioning. A non-slip rubber grip improves control of the operating lever, while the portable design makes the Series 653 suitable for confined workspaces and field service.
