Product Description

The Caldwell BWC-5 Beam Web Clamp is a below-the-hook lifting device designed to attach directly to the web of a structural steel beam, providing a secure and reliable lifting point without the need for slings, chains, or other rigging hardware wrapped around the beam. The BWC-5 is engineered for use in steel fabrication, construction, and industrial maintenance applications where structural beams must be lifted, positioned, or moved during erection, installation, or handling operations.

The beam web clamp attaches to the vertical web section of a structural steel beam by clamping directly onto the web plate, distributing the clamping force across the web surface and providing a stable connection point for the lifting hook. This attachment method is particularly well suited for lifting beams in a horizontal orientation and for applications where the beam flange geometry or job site conditions make sling-based rigging impractical or inefficient.

As a Caldwell product, the BWC-5 is built to the dimensional and performance standards associated with the Caldwell line of below-the-hook lifting devices. It should be used only on structural steel beams within its rated web thickness and beam size compatibility range, and operated in accordance with Caldwell's specifications and applicable below-the-hook lifting device standards including ASME B30.20.

Material: Steel alloy

Compatible With: Structural steel beams within the rated web thickness range for the BWC-5 Overhead crane and hoist systems rated to meet or exceed the BWC-5 working load limit Standard crane hooks compatible with the BWC-5 bail or shackle connection

Uses: Lifting and positioning structural steel beams during fabrication, construction, and installation Steel erection and ironwork applications Industrial maintenance and equipment installation involving structural beams Applications where sling-based rigging around the beam is impractical

Key Features: Attaches directly to the web of structural steel beams for a secure lifting connection Eliminates the need for slings or chains wrapped around the beam Designed for efficient beam handling in fabrication, construction, and maintenance environments Built to Caldwell's below-the-hook lifting device standards BWC-5 model designation within the Caldwell beam web clamp series

Note: Specifications including working load limit, compatible beam web thickness range, compatible beam sizes, and attachment hardware details should be confirmed against the official Caldwell product catalog or manufacturer documentation prior to ordering. The clamp must only be used on beams within its rated compatibility range and operated in full accordance with Caldwell's instructions and applicable lifting device safety standards.
