Product Description

The Kito Chain Container Canvas is a genuine OEM replacement component designed for use in Kito ER2 Series electric chain hoists, specifically compatible with the ER2030 at 20 ft maximum lift and the ER2015 at 40 ft maximum lift configurations, identified by part number BC2-E1. The canvas chain container — also referred to as a canvas chain bucket or chain bag — is the fabric receptacle attached to the hoist body that collects and stores the slack load chain as it accumulates during lifting operations. The canvas construction provides flexibility, durability, and resistance to the abrasion and impact of the load chain feeding in and out during each lift cycle, while offering a lightweight alternative to rigid plastic or steel chain containers in applications where canvas is the preferred or specified material.

A correctly sized and securely mounted chain container is essential for safe and organized hoist operation, preventing the slack chain from hanging freely below the hoist body where it could become entangled with the load, rigging hardware, or personnel working in the lift area. As the hoist raises a load, the slack load chain feeds into the chain container in a controlled manner, and as the hoist lowers the load, the chain is drawn back out of the container and through the hoist body. The dual model compatibility of part number BC2-E1 — fitting the ER2030 at 20 ft lift and the ER2015 at 40 ft lift — reflects that both configurations generate a similar volume of slack chain at their respective maximum lift heights, allowing a single container size to serve both applications correctly.

The canvas chain container is subject to wear, abrasion, tearing, and mechanical damage over its service life through the repeated impact and abrasion of the load chain feeding in and out during each lift cycle, accidental impact from loads and rigging hardware, and exposure to industrial operating environments including moisture, dust, and contaminants. Conditions requiring chain container replacement include tears, holes, or fraying of the canvas body that allow chain to escape, damage to the container mounting hardware or attachment points, and any condition that compromises the container's ability to safely contain the full slack chain load at the maximum lift height.
