The Petzl NEWTON is a full-body fall arrest harness designed for workers at height in construction, industrial maintenance, telecommunications, and general work-at-height applications. As the standard configuration in the NEWTON harness family — without the EASYFIT or FAST quick-donning systems — the NEWTON is a straightforward, reliable harness built for users who require a certified fall arrest solution with a conventional buckle and adjustment system. It provides a secure, adjustable fit across a range of body sizes and is suited for daily use in environments where fall protection is required by regulation.

The NEWTON provides sternal and dorsal D-ring attachment points, supporting use with fall arrest lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, energy absorbers, and guided-type fall arresters. The dorsal D-ring is the primary fall arrest attachment point, while the sternal D-ring accommodates guided fall arrester devices and certain rope access configurations. The harness is compatible with the Petzl NEWTON Hi-Viz Jacket, allowing workers to meet high-visibility requirements on regulated job sites without removing their fall protection equipment.

The international version of the NEWTON carries certifications including CE EN 361, EAC, ANSI Z359.11, CSA Z259.10, UKCA, JSFAD, GB 6095-2021: Z, and XF 494-2004: FZL-DD-III, making it compliant for use across North American, European, UK, Russian, Japanese, and Chinese markets.
