Product Description

The Petzl I'D EVAC is a self-braking descender with an integrated anti-panic function, designed for controlled lowering of personnel from an anchor point in rescue and evacuation operations. Unlike standard descenders that require continuous manual braking input, the I'D EVAC automatically arrests descent if the operator releases the handle or applies excessive speed — the anti-panic function detects over-speed or loss of control and locks the device, preventing uncontrolled descent. This makes it well suited for rescue operators who must manage a victim's descent while simultaneously managing their own position or other tasks.

The I'D EVAC operates with ropes from 10 to 11.5 mm in diameter and supports working loads from 150 to 250 kg, accommodating both single-person and loaded rescue configurations. The device is constructed from aluminum, steel, and nylon, providing a robust, field-ready build suitable for demanding rescue environments. Its self-braking mechanism allows the operator to lower a load with one hand while maintaining full control, and the anti-panic lock engages automatically if the handle is pulled too far or released entirely.
