The Petzl EXO EASHOOK OPEN is an individual evacuation system designed for emergency self-rescue and evacuation from height. Packaged as a complete, ready-to-use system with a 30 m rope and EASHOOK OPEN carabiner, it allows a worker to descend rapidly and safely from an elevated position in an emergency situation without requiring assistance from a rescue team. The EASHOOK OPEN carabiner features an open-gate design that enables fast, one-handed connection to an anchorage point under stress, reducing the time required to initiate evacuation when seconds matter.

The EXO system is built around a controlled descent device that automatically regulates descent speed, allowing the user to descend at a safe, controlled rate without requiring manual braking skill or training beyond basic familiarization. The 30 m rope is constructed from aramid fiber, providing high heat resistance and durability under the friction loads generated during descent. The system's working load limit is 140 kg, accommodating a wide range of user weights including the worker and their PPE and tools.
