Product Description

The Kito Load Chain is a genuine OEM replacement component designed for use in Kito L4 Series lever hoists at the 1-1/2 Ton capacity rating. The load chain is the primary load-bearing element of the lever hoist, transmitting the full working load between the load sheave and the lower hook assembly during every lift cycle. Maintaining a load chain that is in sound condition and within the manufacturer's wear tolerances is one of the most critical aspects of hoist inspection and maintenance, as a worn, damaged, or elongated chain is a direct risk to the safety of the lift and the personnel working in the area.

The load chain on a lever hoist is subject to wear, elongation, corrosion, and mechanical damage over its service life through repeated loading cycles, shock loading, side loading, and exposure to harsh operating environments including moisture, chemicals, abrasives, and extreme temperatures. Kito specifies maximum allowable elongation limits for each chain size and capacity class, and chains that have reached or exceeded these limits must be replaced immediately regardless of visible condition. Additional conditions requiring immediate chain replacement include twisted or kinked links, cracked or deformed links, gouges or nicks in the link surface, corrosion pitting that reduces the cross-sectional area of the chain wire, and any link that does not articulate freely through the load sheave.

The L4 Series is a legacy Kito lever hoist line, and the load chain for this series is specific to the L4 hoist body geometry, load sheave pitch, and link dimensions. Using a chain of incorrect pitch or wire diameter — including chains from other Kito series such as the L5 or LX — will result in improper engagement with the load sheave, accelerated wear, and a compromised safe working load. Confirming the correct OEM part number for the L4 Series 1-1/2 Ton chain with your Kito distributor before ordering is strongly recommended to ensure the correct replacement chain is supplied.
