Duff-Norton LSB-A ratchet lever hoists are manually operated chain hoists designed for lifting, lowering, pulling, tensioning, and positioning loads. Both listed models have a 3/4 Ton capacity, with 10 and 20 ft Lift configurations available. Each model has an 11-5/8 in minimum distance between hooks, requires approximately 46 lb of handle effort at rated load, and uses a compact 9-1/4 in operating lever.

The cushion-grip operating handle rotates through 360 degrees, allowing the operator to reposition the lever when machinery, structural members, or other obstructions limit the available operating arc. A directional selector provides lifting, lowering, and neutral settings. When the unloaded hoist is placed in neutral, its free-wheeling function permits rapid adjustment of the load-chain length before the lower hook is connected to the load.

When a load is applied, the hoist transitions from free-chaining to its brake-locked operating condition for controlled load movement. The chain guide, stripper, load sheave, ratchet, pawls, gearing, and friction-disc brake components work together to provide dependable manual operation. Upper and lower hooks include retaining latches to help keep properly seated attachments within the hook throat during temporary slack conditions.
