Yale PE Series ratchet lever hoists are manually operated chain hoists designed for lifting, lowering, pulling, tensioning, and positioning loads. The listed configurations include 3/4, 1-1/2, and 6 Ton capacities with lifting heights from 5 to 25 ft, providing options for general industrial maintenance, construction, fabrication, equipment installation, and material-handling applications.

The operating handle uses a pumping action to move the load, while a selector lever allows the operator to choose lifting, lowering, or neutral operation. When the unloaded hoist is placed in neutral, the separate free-chain control disengages the load-brake pawl so the chain can be moved rapidly in either direction for faster hook positioning and attachment.

The PE Series uses link-type load chain and hook suspension for portable installation from a properly rated supporting point. The internal ratchet, pawl, gearing, and dry-operating load brake work together to provide controlled load movement and holding.
