Coffing Model PA ratchet lever hoists are lightweight manual chain hoists designed for lifting, lowering, pulling, tensioning, and positioning loads in construction, commercial, maintenance, and industrial applications. The listed models are available in 3/4, 1, 1-1/2, and 3 Ton capacities with standard 5, 10, 15, and 20 ft Lift configurations. Their compact design helps improve portability and rigging efficiency, particularly when working around machinery or within areas where operating space is limited.

The hoist body and operating handle are manufactured from high-strength ductile aluminum alloy, providing a rugged structure without the weight of a conventional steel housing. Double-reduction gearing reduces the handle force required to move the rated load, while heat-treated alloy steel gears are permanently lubricated for extended service life. Hardened steel load chain provides strength and wear resistance for repeated lifting and pulling operations.

A 360-degree rotating handle gives the operator flexibility when nearby equipment or structural members restrict the available operating arc. The one-handed free-chaining mechanism permits rapid take-up and positioning of unloaded slack chain before the load is engaged. An enclosed, self-adjusting screw-and-disc brake helps keep the braking surfaces clean and dry while providing positive load holding, reduced drift and backlash, and precise load positioning during lowering. The 3/4, 1, and 1-1/2 Ton models use single-strand reeving, while the 3 Ton models use two load-chain strands.
