The National W416-7B WIRELOCK Socket Compound Booster Pak is a supplemental liquid resin compound designed to extend the volume of a primary W416-7 WIRELOCK Socket Compound Kit when additional compound is required to completely fill a spelter socket. Supplied in a 500 cc container, the Booster Pak provides a versatile supplemental volume suited for medium to large diameter wire rope socket terminations where the primary kit volume requires a meaningful top-up to achieve a complete, properly filled pour. The 500 cc size strikes a practical balance between volume and portability, making it well suited for both shop fabrication environments and field socketing operations. As with the primary W416-7 compound, the Booster Pak is a two-component resin system that cures to form a high-strength, rigid termination when properly mixed and poured into a prepared socket.

The W416-7B compound is supplied in liquid form and achieves an initial set in approximately 20 minutes under standard conditions, consistent with the cure profile of the primary W416-7 kit. The cured compound exhibits a specific gravity of 1.73 and a tensile strength of 16.15 N/sq-mm, delivering the same mechanical performance as the base compound. The compound has a flash point of 89°F and a viscosity of 3 to 4 poise, and is identifiable by its opaque green/mustard color in the uncured state. The operating temperature range of -65°F to 240°F ensures compatibility with the full range of environmental conditions encountered in industrial, offshore, and heavy lifting applications.

The W416-7B Booster Pak is intended for use in conjunction with the W416-7 primary kit and should not be used as a standalone socketing compound. Proper socket preparation — including brooming, cleaning, and degreasing of the wire rope end — is required prior to pouring, and the Booster Pak compound must be mixed and poured in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions to ensure compatibility with the primary compound and full termination efficiency.
