Crosby S-416 open spelter sockets are designed for secure wire rope terminations in lifting and rigging applications. The open design allows for easier installation and inspection compared to closed sockets, making them suitable for applications where accessibility and maintenance are important.
These sockets provide a strong and reliable connection while maintaining full efficiency of the wire rope, making them ideal for heavy-duty lifting environments.

Material:
Body - Forged steel (sizes up to 1-1/2 in)
Cast alloy steel (sizes 1-5/8 in and larger)

Specifications:
Spelter socket terminations provide 100% efficiency based on wire rope strength
Designed for use with 6×7, 6×19, and 6×37 wire rope constructions
Compatible with IPS, XIP (EIP), XXIP (EEIP), RRL, FC, and IWRC wire rope
For strand constructions with minimal wires (e.g., 1×7), special basket length considerations apply
Larger sizes (1-5/8 in and above) are magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspected
Proof testing available upon request
Meets Federal Specification RR-S-550 (Type A) requirements
