Crosby A-342 Alloy Master Links are designed for use as top lifting links in chain, wire rope, and synthetic sling assemblies, providing a strong and reliable connection point for overhead lifting applications. These links are widely used in single-leg and multi-leg sling configurations, ensuring proper load distribution and safe lifting performance.
Manufactured as forged (weldless) alloy steel components, the A-342 master links offer superior strength, durability, and fatigue resistance compared to welded alternatives, making them ideal for demanding industrial lifting environments.

Body: Forged alloy steel
Heat treatment: Quenched and tempered for maximum strength and toughness
Specifications:
Designed for single-leg and multi-leg sling assemblies
Suitable for Grade 80 and Grade 100 chain slings
Working Load Limit range: approx. 7,400 lb to 373,000 lb (varies by size)
5:1 design factor (ultimate strength = 5× WLL)
Individually proof tested with certification
Proof testing uses special fixtures to prevent localized point loading
Meets or exceeds ASME B30.26 and ASTM A952 requirements
Forgings include Product Identification Code (PIC) for traceability
Selected sizes marked with “W” provide enlarged inside dimensions for additional clearance
Incorporates QUIC-CHECK® deformation indicators for visual inspection
Fatigue rated for 20,000 cycles at 1.5× WLL
Certain sizes are DNV type approved for offshore applications

Design Factor: 5:1 based on a single-leg sling (in-line load), or the resultant load on multiple legs with an included angle of 120° or less.
Proof Testing: Proof test loads meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM A952 and ASME B30.9.
Offshore Container Master Links: Applicable offshore container links are proof tested to 2.5 times the Working Load Limit with 70% fixtures.
