The CM Hurricane 2 Hand Chain Hoist is a manually operated lifting unit designed for general industrial material handling. The products shown include a 2 Ton model with a 10 ft Lift, a 2 Ton model with a 15 ft Lift and a 3 Ton model with a 10 ft Lift. Manual hand-chain operation allows loads to be raised, held and lowered without electrical or pneumatic power.

The hoist uses steel-stamped frame and cover components that enclose and protect the lifting mechanism. Internal gearing is manufactured from high-grade, heat-treated steel, while shielded ball bearings or bushings support the heat-treated steel liftwheel. Forged steel upper and lower hooks are equipped with latches to help retain properly seated attachments when the load chain becomes slack.

A dry-friction Weston-style brake provides positive load control and holds the suspended load at the selected position. The enclosed mechanical design is suitable for manufacturing, maintenance, fabrication and other applications requiring dependable manual lifting. The 2 Ton and 3 Ton configurations provide different rated capacities while maintaining the same straightforward hand-chain operating method.
