This CM No. 2 hook safety latch kit is a replacement assembly for compatible CM hoists and hooks. It is designed to restore the latch mechanism on a hook with a bent, broken, seized, weakened, or missing original latch.

The latch spans the hook throat and helps keep properly seated rigging from unintentionally moving out of the hook when the attachment becomes slack. The spring-loaded design allows the latch to open as an attachment enters the hook and then return toward the closed position against the hook tip.
