Description du produit

The Lebus L-160 Series Heavy Duty Snatch Block is a bronze bushing bearing snatch block designed for use in winching, rigging, pulling, and load positioning applications requiring a rated working load of 12 ton, compatible with wire rope cable diameters from 5/8 inch to 3/4 inch. The snatch block is a single-sheave pulley block with an openable side plate that allows the wire rope to be inserted into the sheave groove without threading the rope end through the block, making it practical for field rigging applications where the rope is already in place or where threading the rope end is not feasible. By redirecting the wire rope through the snatch block, the operator can change the direction of pull from a winch or pulling device, create a mechanical advantage when the block is used in a purchase system, and extend the effective reach of a winching or pulling operation beyond the direct line between the winch and the load.

The 12 ton working load rating confirms this snatch block is designed for heavy-duty industrial, construction, forestry, and recovery applications where high pulling loads are encountered, sharing the same capacity rating as the roller bearing variant of the L-160 Series 12 ton block. The 5/8 to 3/4 inch maximum cable diameter specifies the range of wire rope sizes this block is designed to accommodate in the sheave groove, ensuring correct rope seating, correct load distribution across the sheave, and prevention of rope damage from an undersized or oversized sheave groove. The 5-7/8 inch sheave outside diameter provides the correct rope-to-sheave diameter ratio for the rated cable size range, minimizing rope fatigue and maintaining rope service life in repeated use applications.

The bronze bushing bearing sheave mounting is the key differentiator between this block and the roller bearing variant of the same L-160 Series 12 ton specification. Bronze bushing bearings provide a self-lubricating, corrosion-resistant bearing surface that is well suited to outdoor, marine, and wet operating environments where roller bearings may be more susceptible to corrosion and contamination. Bronze bushing blocks are generally more tolerant of infrequent lubrication and exposure to moisture, mud, and contaminants than roller bearing blocks, making them a practical choice for field rigging, recovery, and construction applications where maintenance access is limited and environmental exposure is high. The trade-off compared to roller bearing blocks is higher sheave friction under load, which increases the load on the pulling device and reduces mechanical efficiency in purchase systems — a consideration in high-cycle or high-load applications where minimizing friction losses is a priority.

The snatch block must be inspected before each use for cracks or deformation of the block body and side plates, correct operation of the side plate opening and latching mechanism, sheave bushing condition and freedom of rotation, wear or grooving of the sheave groove surface, and correct attachment of the block hook or shackle to the anchor point. Any snatch block showing signs of damage, deformation, or bushing wear must be removed from service immediately.

Material: Heavy-duty steel construction with bronze bushing bearing sheave Working Load: 12 ton Compatible Cable Diameter: 5/8 to 3/4 in Sheave Outside Diameter: 5-7/8 in Bearing Type: Bronze bushing

Compatible With: Wire rope cable diameters 5/8 in to 3/4 in Winching, rigging, pulling, and load positioning applications Outdoor, marine, wet, and field environments where bronze bushing bearing is preferred Series: L-160

Uses: Redirecting wire rope pull direction in winching and rigging operations Creating mechanical advantage in wire rope purchase systems Extending effective winch reach in recovery, construction, and industrial pulling applications Heavy-duty rigging applications in outdoor, marine, or wet environments requiring 12 ton rated snatch block capacity with bronze bushing bearing durability

Key Features: Lebus L-160 Series heavy-duty snatch block 12 ton working load rating Compatible with 5/8 to 3/4 in wire rope cable 5-7/8 in sheave outside diameter Bronze bushing bearing for corrosion resistance and self-lubrication in outdoor and wet environments Openable side plate for easy rope insertion without threading rope end Heavy-duty steel construction for industrial, construction, and recovery applications

Note: Always inspect snatch blocks before each use and remove from service immediately if any damage, deformation, bushing wear, or sheave wear is identified. Never exceed the rated working load of 12 ton. Always use with wire rope within the rated cable diameter range of 5/8 to 3/4 in. The snatch block anchor point must be rated to at least twice the working load of the pulling device when the block is used to redirect a single-part line. Lubricate the bronze bushing bearing at regular intervals per the manufacturer's maintenance schedule to maintain correct sheave rotation and extend bushing service life. Never use a snatch block as a substitute for a rated lifting block in overhead lifting applications unless the block is specifically rated and certified for overhead lifting use.
