Product Description

The McKissick QG-566 Western Cargo Hoisting Block is a heavy-duty wire rope block engineered for high-capacity cargo hoisting, marine lifting, and industrial rigging applications requiring reliable performance with 3/4 in wire rope at a 10 Ton working load limit. Rated at 10 Ton with a 16 in sheave outside diameter, this higher-capacity variant of the QG-566 series steps up from the 5 Ton 12 in model to deliver the same QG-series block construction on a larger sheave platform suited to heavier cargo handling systems, larger vessel operations, and rigging configurations where the full 10 Ton rating and increased sheave diameter are required. The Western cargo hoisting block configuration is a proven design used across marine, offshore, and industrial environments for cargo handling, deck operations, and heavy rigging assemblies.

The tapered roller bearing provides the mechanical performance required for sustained high-capacity hoisting service with 3/4 in wire rope on the larger 16 in sheave platform. Designed to carry both radial and axial thrust loads simultaneously, the tapered roller bearing ensures consistent sheave rotation under heavy tension, minimizes friction during wire rope travel, and maintains sheave alignment under the dynamic and eccentric loading conditions common in cargo hoisting applications. This bearing type is the standard choice for large-sheave, high-capacity wire rope blocks where load distribution, mechanical efficiency, and long service life are essential in demanding marine and industrial service.

The 16 in sheave outside diameter provides an increased D/d ratio for 3/4 in wire rope compared to the 12 in QG-566 5 Ton model, further supporting wire rope service life and reducing bending fatigue during repeated high-load cycling. The 10 Ton QG-566 sits alongside the PG-566, E-566, J-566, and QK-566 10 Ton models in McKissick's Western cargo hoisting block range, with the QG-566 series offering operators both a 5 Ton mid-capacity option and a 10 Ton high-capacity option within the same block family for 3/4 in wire rope applications.
