The Budgit Series 6000 Spark-Resistant Air Chain Hoist is designed for controlled industrial lifting in environments where reducing the risk of mechanical sparking is important. These models have a 2 Ton load rating, triple-reeved load-chain configuration, 10 ft lifting height and 5 FPM lifting speed. Both configurations operate at 90 PSI and use pendant throttle control for convenient lifting and lowering from the operator’s working position.

The pneumatic motor provides infinitely variable speed control for smooth starts and accurate load positioning. Series 6000 hoists are designed for continuous-duty operation and incorporate an internal muffler to reduce operating noise, a throttle valve for smooth movement and overload protection to help guard the hoist against excessive loading. The screenshot identifies an airflow requirement of approximately 70 SCFM for these slow-speed configurations.

These products are available with either hook or lug suspension. The hook-suspension model provides a removable connection to a suitable overhead support and has a minimum distance of 24-7/8 in between hooks. The lug-suspension model provides a rigid mounting connection for integration with a suitable supporting structure or compatible trolley. Budgit states that its spark-resistant Series 6000 models use stainless steel load chain, operate at reduced speeds and are intended for medium-duty service because stainless steel chain has a lower wear life than standard load chain.
