The Yale RS2 ratchet lever hoist is a versatile, manually operated chain hoist designed for lifting, pulling, dragging, stretching, tensioning, and positioning loads. This configuration provides a 1-1/2 Ton load capacity, 12 ft Lift, 14-3/4 in minimum distance between hooks, 1-1/8 in hook opening, approximately 55 lb of lever pull at rated load, a 16-3/4 in operating lever, and single-strand reeving.

Lightweight aluminum is used for the frame, protective covers, and operating lever, helping produce a compact hoist suitable for portable use and close-quarter operation. The drive system incorporates grease-lubricated, hardened alloy steel gears, bearings at rotating points, an alloy steel liftwheel designed to reduce chain wear, and Hoistaloy load chain for dependable industrial service. Forged steel upper and lower hooks include retaining latches, while the upper hook can rock and swivel to assist with alignment.

A free-chaining mechanism allows the unloaded chain to be pulled through the hoist by hand for faster lower-hook positioning and attachment. Once the operating mechanism is engaged, the sealed automatic brake and two holding pawls provide positive load control during lifting, lowering, pulling, and positioning. The compact body and short lever support operation around machinery, structural members, and other obstructions where a longer operating handle would be difficult to use.
