The 400 lb capacity rating accommodates heavier workers or those carrying substantial tools and equipment, where a standard 310 lb capacity harness would be insufficient for the worker's total weight. Polyester webbing construction delivers excellent resistance to moisture, UV exposure, abrasion, and common industrial chemicals, ensuring reliable performance and long service life across a wide range of indoor and outdoor work environments.

The upgraded padded configuration incorporates additional padding at key contact points including the shoulders, chest, and legs, reducing pressure and discomfort during prolonged wear and extended work shifts at height. For heavier workers, proper harness fit and padding are especially important as the forces distributed across the harness during a fall arrest event are greater, making correct adjustment and adequate padding at contact points critical to both comfort during normal use and protection during fall arrest. The dorsal D-ring provides the primary fall arrest attachment point and must be positioned correctly at the center of the worker's upper back between the shoulder blades before work begins.

This harness must be used as part of a complete personal fall arrest system with compatible connecting subsystems and anchor points rated for the 400 lb capacity range. All lanyards, self-retracting lifelines, rope grabs, and anchor points used with this harness must be rated for and compatible with the 400 lb capacity requirement. Inspect the harness before each use for webbing wear, fraying, cuts, chemical damage, discoloration, buckle and hardware defects, and stitching integrity. Remove from service immediately if any defects are identified or if the harness has been subjected to fall arrest forces.
